BOTOX & FILLERS

Botox is an FDA approved cosmetic medication that is applied to the muscle to cause relaxation and to minimize the appearance of facial lines and wrinkles. Botox can help improve lines in the forehead, around the eyes, around the nose, around the lips and chin area. The facial areas that can see a marked improvement with a Botox plan include the following:

ANGRY FACE or ELEVENS
The contraction of this area of the face between the brows can cause one to look unhappy and make the eyes appear more closed. A controlled Botox treatment should give the client a medial brow lift and create a look that is more awake and refreshed.

HORIZONTAL LINES or FOREHEAD LINES
The frontalis muscle in the forehead is the elevator for the eyebrows. We use it to keep our brows up and some people engage it to help keep their eyes open. A Botox treatment can help smooth the furrows for a glassier look. This area definitely needs to be handled by a professional injector, as a botched injection can cause a flat forehead or drooping brows.

CROWS FEET or LAUGH LINES
Most people start noticing crows feet in their mid-twenties. The skin around the eyes is particularly thin and therefore prone to lose its elasticity earlier than other areas of the body. Conservative Botox treatments in this area will help these muscles relax to create a smoother look around the eyes.

BUNNY LINES
When we smile or squint, we engage the muscle group located on the sides of the nose that can cause bunny lines. Ironically, bunny lines may also be caused when Botox treatments of the brow push other muscle groups to engage to expressions. These too, are easily treated with small doses.

VERTICAL LIP LINES or SMOKERS LINES
These vertical lines across the lips are caused by constant motion. Clients may not be smokers at all, they simply are more expressive and therefore cause more contraction of the muscles and skin in the area. Botox cosmetic can soften these lines and leave the mouth area looking more rejuvenated. This is an area where we may also consider a lip filler to be used in conjunction with the Botox.

SAD FACE
This issue is caused by the pulling down of the corners of the mouth that creates a look of sadness, even if one is not. It is usually caused when the muscle in the area is strong and the collagen in the face is fading and is no longer there to push back. Treatment in this case, is not to completely relax this muscle as we do with others in the face, rather to weaken it so that the pull at the corners of the mouth is not so strong.

SQUARE JAW
Square jaw is the appearance of a boxy or square jaw because of enlarged muscles in the area. The enlargement of the muscles can be caused by grinding or clenching your teeth, especially during sleep. Botox can smooth the facial contour resulting in a more oval, feminine shape to the jaw.

COBBLESTONE CHIN or CHIN CREASE
Chin crease and other chin wrinkles or dimples are usually caused by repetitive motions of the chin muscle. More than just the wrinkles in your chin, the chin itself contributes to the overall contours of the face and can cause an even more aged look. Botox will help restore smoothness to the chin. We may also use fillers to reshape the contour of the chin.

NECK BANDS
Neck bands are caused by the platysma muscle. It may become stretched and droop with age. As you make certain facial expressions, the muscle contracts and can cause bands on your necks. Botox will keep the muscles from contracting and keep the neck smooth. The treatment, which is often called the ‘Nefertiti Lift’ can also improve the definition of your jaw line and create a beautiful neck lift at the same time.

HYPERHIDROSIS or EXCESSIVE SWEATING
Botox is also an effective treatment against excessive underarm sweating. Botox for hyperhidrosis blocks the chemical that activates sweat glands to keep clients dry.
